Oh good another direction

I guess most of the stuff in the new album sure belongs in Olivia Wilde’s next derivative movie about a teen mom

I like it a lot but it's the weakest of her 3 albums. Can't believe she wrote a song about the LTM up in Danvers.

To be fair it was going to be very surprising if i did liked it a lot; i feel Punisher is the only Bridges release i consider a masterpiece from to back and that has to do with how much it surprised me and talked to me on the time of its release. I also loved all the videos she did for the album.

She has a very limited palette, and thats fine; it just doesnt appeal to me again.

Punisher is absolutely a masterpiece. I also think Punisher is essentially a Bright Eyes album the way it's structured.

Any Bright Eyes rec?

I'm interested to hear this argument

it's hard for me to put into words. the opening and closing songs feel very "bright eyes" ways of starting and ending an album to me. like the way i know the end ends with a cacophony of yelling and instruments crashing out feels a lot like let's not shit ourselves, or lucly easy free, or road to joy. the way dvd menu and garden song open the album feels like the way every bright eyes album opens.

but it's the overall tone of the record, the instrumentation, the warmth. idk its hard to really describe.
