Even better if you know Dan Erickson was working at a door factory when he came up with the show.VinylGuy wrote:The doors scene was hysterical

Re: Severance
There’s definitely an as-yet unexplained dynamic with Cobel seeming to care personally about Mark; i.e. not coldly regarding him as a corporate commodity like the Board, Milchick, and Graynor seem to. Add in the reintegration concept that Cobel has proven but the Board is resisting and there are clearly multiple agendas in play.

Re: Severance
Just finished another rewatch of season 1. That finale is exquisite perfection.

Re: Severance
I rewatched episode 2 last night. I didn't notice this during my first viewing: Helena waves off Mr. Frolic from intervening when Cobel is leaving the board room after the job offer meeting. Nice precursor to what appears to be about to happen to Cobel if she were to have gone into Lumon with Helena in episode 3.

Re: Severance
Greenwald and CR need to chill the fuck out and just enjoy the show. Andy is tying himself up in knots trying to find flaws, worrying about whether or not the show is going to stick the landing god knows how many seasons from now. Enjoy the ride, fellas!
This segment was followed by Greenwald fawning all over the season finale of The Agency, a mostly-boring show with incompetent CIA agents doing dumb things in incomprehensibly weird ways. Sticking the landing? How about sticking the takeoff, man?

the show is driting a bit into annoyingly aimless and mysterious territory. hopefully the last minutes of ep 3 means things will pick up and come together now.

There’s a free version of The You You Are in Apple Books, written and audio formats. The audio is read by Michael Chernus. I’m sampling it now and it’s hilarious.

Re: Severance
I think they’re actually moving the plot forward pretty quickly; none of this has felt drawn out or lacking momentum to me. Lumon’s motivations are taking shape and seem to be pretty clearly telegraphed.spike wrote:the show is driting a bit into annoyingly aimless and mysterious territory. hopefully the last minutes of ep 3 means things will pick up and come together now.
That said, the first two-thirds of episode 3 is the first time in the series I’ve felt the urge to look at a clock. Then the last third hit me like a shot of adrenaline.

I was also a little bored and maybe on the fence with the goats scene.Ensign9 wrote:I think they’re actually moving the plot forward pretty quickly; none of this has felt drawn out or lacking momentum to me.
