A lot of this huge movies have their stars producing them in some capacity, so they should be there anyway.

but it seems they all want to join this strike, so seems if they go on strike every red carpet will be shut down.
Oppenheimer red carpet is already being pushed and hour earlier because of a possible strike announcement today.

I have no idea what the directions to the union will be, but for the sake of comparison, the WGA has asked members to not participate in press for their projects that’s set up or run by studios—so no press junkets, probably fewer talk show appearances (although writers do stuff like that less often), etc.—but that they were free to promote their projects otherwise. If SAG does something similar, I would have to imagine red carpets would be done for the time being, as surely those are studio-run. I think this aspect of the strike would be more acutely felt than with similar actions by writers.

yeah, huge bomb. Doesnt look good for that awful Blue Beetle movie and for Aquaman 2.
Seems DC will have to wait until the new Supes movie.

SAG-AFTRA has also released a list of striking jobs and non-striking jobs to members. For example: on-camera commercials, Industrials, and VO work is not affected by the strike. There are a lot of these kinds of caveats. Not sure how that impacts publicity and red carpet but it COULD be exempt (though I really doubt it).

There's a pretty strong theory/argument going on (at least for the WGA part of this) that studios WANT the strike since most need to cut costs anyway. A lot of the people I know predicted this was always going to last until September for quarterly bottom-lines. Not really sure how SAG impacts this. We'll see...

I heard something about a September timeline for studios being able to cancel overall deals without penalty, which would also save a lot of money, theoretically.
