Wreckage is obviously a way better song...but I feel it kind of lifts this one up a bit too
Just hope there's a bit more to Something Special like a nice intro, a decent bridge & a good Mike solo
I thought / hoped this would happen for some people; a nice happy ditty like this is fine but it needs contextualising and grounding in a Pearl Jam album, so it was really risky that it was the third thing they gave us; imagine if "Soon Forget" had been our first Binaural single

Have a feeling some of the harder tracks like Scared of Fear & React / Respond are a bit bleak and dark.
So perhaps Wreckage and Something Special are placed on the album to add some light
Although the Wreckage lyrics seem pretty dark - the music at least provides a positive summer like lift

I can't remember a single thing about the Wreckage snippet because this one, unfortunately, beat the shit out of it in its conquest of my short memory bank

I think the sentimental side of me is going to win out and really enjoy this one for what it is. It's been stuck in my head all week.

It’s the most invasive of the bunch.
A true ear worm.
Disclaimer: That doesn’t attest to its quality in any way
