Easily a 5 star song.
My only two issues:
1. The compression/distortion on the "agooooo" it does sound better on the .flacs however.
2. Should have been longer if it wasn't going to open the album.

5* from me as well.
Fantastic, just fantastic.

But can you hear Stone's little lick at 3:26 underneath Mike's little two-note picks? It makes me jump every time. It makes me wish Stone took over at that part and kicked in with a few heavy shreds a-la 'Present Tense' to end the song on an angrier and louder note.

I like it a lot.
I think Ament and Gossard should make an album together.

I am fully convinced this is the best possible opener to the shows this year. Eddie - if you're hearing me...Brooklyn 2 please! ;-)

Just love it!

I can see how it'd make a great ending track.

I get what Stip means by wishing Eddie wasn't there, but I also love the way he finds to be there.

Makes me think of a much more mature NAIS in a way.

I really hope they play this live in Brooklyn!! :heartbeat:

I am fairly certain McCready is not even on the studio recording. All guitars are stone.

Dunno...it's so emotional that it would be hard to follow it up with a rocker right after. I'm thinking it'd be a good encore opener though.

"Release" and "Long Road" are both emotional and have been openers.

I wonder if they'll just have Mike do the acoustic part of this song.

I think one of the things I love about this song is that it remains groovy, like a lot of these tracks. A dark track like this could've really lacked a head-bobbing groove. But you could really dance to this, naked, around a fire, at Stonehenge.

It's got that tribal element. Calls to mind the end of ATY.
