I don't see how it doesn't fit the mood unless its lyrically which I admit I haven't really thought about. It's not like it's 'Shiny Happy People' or something. All the songs from those sessions seem to fit together to my ear.

i was saying lyrically yeah, but also the music seems different than the others songs..i dont know why, more uplifting than the others. Still an awesome song... and i really like the soon forget tag..maybe as a bonus track?

Ah, well i still wanted to mention that i love the idea of soon forget as the hidden track. Love it

I think my thing with the alternate tracklists of Binaural is that inevitably people shift around from Light Years to the end, and I can't personally think of a better running order than what they came up with, considering what they had. Insignificance through Sleight of Hand alone makes it one of their best records.

I’d even make that: Light Years right through the end makes it one of their best records. I love every second on there. Song 2 & 3 make it fall just short of the very top, but I still wouldn’t mess with the tracklist.

I'm one of the few who really dig Hitchhiker. I don't think it would have fit on Binaural at all. But, I love the song's rhythmic groove, Ed's delivery, and the nice bridge.

Exactly. I'd go further and say it's a really good song. I love it. Having said that, I'm glad it's not on Binaural.

Hitchhiker is a really cool song but I agree that it has no place on Binaural.

"Hitchhiker" is an okay song, but it's very b-side-ish, in the same vein as "Leatherman" and "U". I like the spot where the bass drops out completely...reminds of "I Heard Her Call My Name".

"Sad", "In The Moonlight" & "Fatal" are way too fucking good to be b-sides, and it irks me that they were presented alongside crap like "Sweet Lew" and "Gremmie Out Of Control", and old boring shit like "Yellow Ledbetter". Had they been on "Riot Act", I think people would hold that album in higher regard. But since "Riot Act" had a different producer, I guess they didn't want to mix up songs from old sessions. Kind of a bummer.

In my estimation, Riot Act is just fine without those songs.
