Should we start taking bets on what show next leg ed actually breaks something?Chloe wrote:That was the storybroken iris wrote:That was great! In My Tree, Faithful, Sleight of Hand, Sad, and Breath in one show but then skipping Daughter, Betterman, Even Flow, Just Breathe, and Yellow Moon? It's like they were reading my mind and played a show that wiped away the slightly bad taste of the last two I had seen (PHL2 and Balt). Eddie gave props to my section after the Jeff chant me and the old dude next to me started that got so loud Jeff had to signal the crowd to tone it down. Eddie's voice sounded waaaay better than Baltimore, almost back to Brooklyn levels, so look out luck fans going to Charlotte you guys are in for a treat.
A real high note to end my tour on.
And I await the secretive Jeff story the OP hinted at but I will say this:
- Spoiler: show
Ed introduced Jeff, Ed and Stone both point at him, crowd starts chanting "Jeff". Ed shares his wine. It was a cool moment and almost made me wonder if they had read any headlines about Jeff "storming off stage". Crowd was spectacular, especially in our area (we were right next to broken iris). Loud as fuck! Here's a link of Ed falling. You may want to turn the sound off, it's really awful sound. I had a feeling Ed was going to fall, but I do think it was kind of a tumble on purpose.

Ed came in like a wrecking ballChloe wrote:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1iaEYpcdsy0&feature=youtube_gdata_player
Ed never hit so hard in love
All Ed wanted was to break your walls
All you ever did was wreck him
Yeah, you, you wreck him

Totally... but then add back in The End and Future Days and it would really be the best ever.fishbob wrote:take out the fixer, the end, and future days and this is probably the best set of the tour

Re: [Official Setlist Thread] Charlottesville, VA: 29-Octobe
this has been the most heartbreaking thread to read. I had tickets and was going to road trip from Louisville with a friend, but he injured his back (slipping in the damn shower) and couldn't make the drive. Nobody else could go (I'm in the 'have kids and a job' age bracket so my social circle isn't quite in its 'seat-of-the-pants' phase anymore). So I missed it. Couldn't afford spending another $300 on gas and lodging all by myself.
The set looks great on paper (though I really like Yellow Moon and would have missed it). I'll just have to buy the bootleg and listen to it while holding my ticket and watching youtube clips of the performance. *edit - and crying quietly

I'm surprised it took this long to get this going.Sea wrote:13. Sirens-(from the new album “Lightning Bolt”)
(after the song is over Ed says “thanks a lot” and starts strumming his 12 string acoustic and singing the “a-ah, oh oh” outro. The audience joins in and they sing a couple of rounds of the outro. Not unlike the “Black” outro sing along)
Great set by the way - not at all surprised if Stone wrote it, he's the best one after all
