They're far more forgivable than ties in the NFL.
If the NFL weren't so violent and injuries so prevalent, I'd agree.
I doubt it would add to injuries in a real significant way.
The networks don't want games bleeding into the late games by going into 3 overtimes.

They already unnecessarily bleed into the late games with regular overtimes. As a fan of a team in the Western US of which the NFL forbids from playing at home in the early slot for no good reason, I know this all too well. :gomez: CBS and Fox should just use CBSSN and FS1 to handle the overlap, like ESPN does in other leagues, or space out the games more.

touchdowns.

Everybody knows that even if you run right through, you still get the 6 points.

But there's a difference between 5-10 minutes and an hour.

The games that are supposed to end at 7 almost never end before 7:30 and usually run til around 8.

The average NFL game last year lasted 3 hours and 10 minutes.

The average really shouldn't matter. Missing even one play of the late game is inexcusable in my eyes.

Yup, I have to tell my DVR to record 60 Minutes for 120 minutes just to make sure I get it,

Yeah that is annoying. But that is more due to the Networks dragging it out than sports rules.

Heh.

A second football game isn't Heidi, and there's also far more channels now than there back then.

Well, instant replaying every godamned play doesn't help.

I see what you're saying but I like seeing them since it's hard to watch 22 players  Commercials :finger:

I meant the official replays by referees, it was ok when they were only the 3 challenges but now they play a ridiculous amount of plays. There's no need to review obvious touchdowns.

I hate extra points. I think teams should always have to go for 2.

You must have loved the Lions/Eagles game from last season, then.

I think I'd be down with teams automatically getting 7 points on a TD but then they could "gamble" a point if they want that's essentially the same as going for two.

I dig your idea too.

Whoops, sorry to bring up a loss. I figured Nebraska would be split between the Vikings and Chiefs, like Boise is with the Broncos and Seahawks. Of course I get unlucky on 32:1 odds.
