This. It tastes like they poured raspberry syrup in their normal hef.vegman wrote:That particular beer has way too much raspberry for my taste and it always tasted like they use an extract instead of fruit.]

I'm not sure if you just had a bad batch, but this was pretty tart.vegman wrote:WtOB? wrote:Raspberry beer ???cutuphalfdead wrote:That beer is awful. Ew, yeah.. I dunno about that.
There's nothing wrong at all with a good hefeweizen or even a raspberry beer if the fruit isn't over the top. That particular beer has way too much raspberry for my taste and it always tasted like they use an extract instead of fruit. Raspberry shouldn't be really sweet in a beer it should actually add a bit of flavor and tartness to it. It can actually give a nice balance to a roasty porter.
Maybe they tweaked the recipe but I had this a few times a year ago and had the same experience as vegman.Mecca wrote:I'm not sure if you just had a bad batch, but this was pretty tart.vegman wrote:WtOB? wrote:Raspberry beer ???cutuphalfdead wrote:That beer is awful. I only had it once or twice so maybe, but I definitely wouldn't call it tart. Their regular hefe, on the other hand, is pretty decent IMO.cutuphalfdead wrote:Maybe they tweaked the recipe but I had this a few times a year ago and had the same experience as vegman.Mecca wrote:I'm not sure if you just had a bad batch, but this was pretty tart.vegman wrote:WtOB? wrote:Raspberry beer ???cutuphalfdead wrote:That beer is awful.
