Should the guy be disqualified for obstructing the other dude?
They both should have to start from the beginning.

Good luck with the ultra t2b (and spouse), sounds like a good one.

Friday: Supersets of pull-ups, dips and leg raises ~30 minutes
Saturday: 5 miles indoors
Sunday: truncated Lower Body Workout A ~ 25 minutes

Schedule has been a bit crunched so haven't gotten in as long of workouts as I'd like but still streaking. I've been fairly happy witht he runs and my legs felt much better Saturday, thought I might add a bit to my five mile plan... then at 3.9 breakfast made a reappearance and that fnal mile was beyond miserable.

Streak: 16

Nice work, oasisfan. You're a good person.

Did you pick a half marathon training plan?

Yes. I believe there are clearly stated obstruction rules when you sign up for an Ironman. He clearly sticks his arm out and impedes the other dude's progress.

If I were in that situation and I was the dude sprinting for the tape, I'm afraid I would have been disqualified because I would have put a forearm to the back of the other dude's head.

I looked over the one you recommended and also the other, slower plans. I have decided to make Saturday my long run but at only being a few weeks in I'm not exactly far along. I will say that my enjoyment of the runs has definitely increased but at the current moment three days of running is what my schedule can handle. I can certainly see that change when the weather improves a bit though, looking forward to that.

One thing that I haven't been including enough of is stretching, really have to get that better set this week. Also, went to my nephew's indoor track meet Friday night and saw a kid run a 4:43, it looked effortless for him.

You can easily complete your first half marathon on 3 runs a week. Use this plan and dump the Wednesday run. It even has Saturday long runs like you wanted.

You don't think it too shocking to the body to have one long run day and the other two stay at three miles?

Ha! I was actually coming back to this thread to suggest that you bump up the Thursday run by a couple of miles.

10 miles in 69 minutes

A full 30 hours between runs and my legs were twitching. Wore my all-pink breast cancer outfit complete with pink compression socks. 35 out. 34 back with a quarter-mile finishing kick. On the way back, some asshole yelled something at me while I crossed at a traffic light. I turned around and started running toward his car. His eyes got big and he ran the red light. I shot him the finger and went on my way. Great run!

My schedule is kinda fucked up this week, so I'll probably only do 5 the next couple of nights.

 Great effort on all counts, t2b. :nice:

Catchup post:

Saturday - Core and weight workout.
Sunday - Great 25K ride, felt good despite the humidity that was still lingering.
Monday - 6k run which was only spoiled when I stepped in a steaming fresh pile of dog shit. Goddammit, there are so many lazy assholes in our area that need to learn to poop scoop.

Streak - 6

5 miles in 35 minutes

Hit the canal with my oldest daughter in the running stroller. Beautiful AZ evening. 18 out. 17 back with a decent finishing kick. My son signed up for the running club at his school, so he and I are gonna hit the track tomorrow.

5 miles in 34 minutes

Going to the track tonight, but I wanna focus on my son's workout when there, so I hit the canal for a quick 5-miler after I dropped the kids off at school. Just packed with snowbirds/bluehairs all riding their cruiser bikes 3 abreast so I couldn't get past without some commotion. After the fourth time, I really wanted to push one of them into the canal, but I decided against it. Even split, no finishing kick.

Baby is teething and the wife had a nasty headache, so I took the baby in the crappy running stroller in hopes she would fall asleep. She did. Even split. No finishing kick. Felt great.

Busy week...

Wednesday: Stuck in NY for work all day so just got in a 2.5 mile jog on the tread when I got home.
Thursday: Upper Body Workout B ~ 30 minutes (Wednesday killed me here)
Friday: Supersets of pull-ups/dips and leg raises ~30 minutes
Saturday: 4 miles on the treadmill (went out for far too long last night, pissed I couldn't muster more today)

Streak: 22

Friday: 5 miles in 34 minutes

Ran right after work so the wife and I could enjoy some adult beverages earlier in the night. Even split with a dinky finishing kick. I got blackout drunk.

Saturday: 10 miles in 68 minutes

Nasty hangover all day, but the run was really nice. Took my alternate canal route so I could enjoy the spectacular sunset on the way back. I could taste the alcohol in my sweat. Even split, quarter-mile finishing kick.
