To each their own, I know it can be a sensitive subject and everyone feels their own way. I guess I just don't care as much.Angus wrote:No offense, but I always hate it when people say stuff like this. Nobody cares how long the album will take, but people will naturally lose interest in the band while they're waiting, especially if it sounds so much like they're not interested. I'm not going to invest any emotion into a passionless group of mediocre songwriters.

Re: 10th album rumors and speculation
I don't think people are literally putting their life on hold but it is frustrating and obviously frustrating for at least one band member. It is made worse by Ed becoming a drop in appearance celebrity and the band being a festival jukebox which will also play for IT conference crowds if the money is right. That is why the comparison to My Bloody Valentine is ridiculous; the band wasn't even active during that period.
While a Western guitar motif lost on the swings drum bass fusion, get your own thoughts into the subconscious often forgotten. "Pendulum" is a sweeping soul from the ballast.

it wasn't a comparison. it was a joke. i thought it was fairly obvious that you can't compare an active and an inactive band.Blenheim Augustine wrote:I don't think people are literally putting their life on hold but it is frustrating and obviously frustrating for at least one band member. Re: 10th album rumors and speculation
While im not as frustrated as some other member of this board, seems they dont care much for the new album. Thats the feeling, im not saying that is whats happening here.
Im enjoying a lot the live shows, the last tour was really good (better than 08 for example) and the side proyects have been really good too so, perhaps thats why i dont feel as bad as some people here.

I just think that I have to accept the fact that, like other aging "rock" acts, this band is simply too old to be putting out new material on the same rotation as before.

I think it is less motivation than the age factor....

there has to be some age factor. Im in my thirties and already feel like death.KingJeremyD wrote:Chris_H_2 wrote:I just think that I have to accept the fact that, like other aging "rock" acts, this band is simply too old to be putting out new material on the same rotation as before.

I listen to a bunch of other bands. I also spend my life doing a lot of other things than thinking about Pearl Jam. But then I come on this board and, you know, respond to complaints like yours about people thinking too much about PJ. But I only do that on this PJ forum.Angus wrote:No offense, but I always hate it when people say stuff like this. I've sure read that feeling a lot on this site, suggesting that a contingent of us really does care while saying they don't. People who don't care are not really on this forum, or if they are, they're not on this thread.bodysnatcher wrote:To each their own, I know it can be a sensitive subject and everyone feels their own way. Anyway, Uke Songs is still really good, so that's something.

Everyone's joking and even when we aren't, we can claim we were. THE INTERNET IS WONDERFUL!
