Maybe these are farewell shows??

Not suggesting the No Code and this show would be included in a NC/Y rerelease, but them both being played could suggest they're working on it, the band have been having to sift through old demos photos journals etc from the period as part of putting it together and this in turn inspired the decision to play them.

it's just a theory.

So I chose well - moline, st. P, and milwaukee.
Moline was pretty much a fan club show. The crazies have been talking this one up since it was announced. No Code in its entirety for that crowd was like playing Ten in its entirety in a stadium. The audience ate it up and the band fed off of it. The "audible" section afterwards was about the most exciting thing I've seen at a pj show.
Milwaukee was another story. First of all, the this can't be happening vibe was not present. After walking out to red dot, I think most fans expected it. The thing is, Milwaukee was not made up of most fans. I'm sure some people went nuts, but from my vantage point, the vast majority of people in the building were not into it. I enjoyed it - mfc was especially nice - but it didn't touch the other night in terms of energy. The rest of the set felt like an attempt to make it up to the majority. Too bad too because I definitely see "strangest" crossed off. Moline would have embraced that.
St. Paul was a great show. The setlist was the greatest hits package everyone here dreads, but the band ripped through it and the crowd loved it. I know several people who went to this show as first-timers, and all of them were blown away. None said, I wish they had played Sleight of Hand. This is the type of show this band needs to deliver if they're only going to come to town once every 8 years. The older I get, and the older they get, the more I appreciate this type of show.
I would love a Binaural or Lost Dogs filled show, but the audience has to be right.
Well, back to work before Bridge. Hoping for Strangest Tribe and Immortality, but also hoping for Black and Elderly Woman.

I usually don't drink at the shows, but I was in a weird mood yesterday.


But man, you forget how great the Yield songs are live and to have them all knocked out a row was fantastic. Lowlight and Faithfull are two of my live favorites, so I'm gonna remember this one for a while to come.

This can't be said enough and I'd love to see them do this more often. Fuck the magic pearl jam concert formula, just play what feels right at that very second and let the audience response help drive the show.

So honestly, one of the coolest (non-musical) parts of the night happened at the very end of the show during Yellow Ledbetter when Mike was solo'ing the Star Spangled Banner. The entire band was standing behind Matt's drumkit putting down beers, hi-fiving, joking around, and hugging. Stone turned to Jeff and clearly said "we did it, great job," and hugged. Ed and Matt were doing the same, and then Stone and Ed. You can tell this was sort of a catharthis or release for them. I haven't seen them generally that emotional as a group after a show in a long time, and it was just really cool to see.

Great anecdote, thanks. Awesome to hear they are experiencing something cathartic together. That's a recipe for great band chemistry at this point in their careers and could mean good chemistry for future projects together.

I saw that and it seemed really cool. Like they really were having the times of their lives. And it showed in the set too. Everyone was full of energy and enthusiasm. All kinds of memorable moments.

I saw that too. It was pretty cool to see them so happy and appreciative of one another.

Great, great show. My 47th, when they came out to Red Dot I had a feeling. Once they played Baba early it was on.
They were really putting their all into the Yield songs. It was an unforgettable night and it happened in my hometown. Just shocked that these 2 albums were played in full in Moline and Milwaukee
