So NO ONE had an opinon about season three's opener..

first, why did they have the whole start the show with puritanical type religious worshppers that eventually realize its all a farce, and then have the batshit insane wife end up what i can only assume meant she was the same as the guilty remnants?
also, im not getting what the doves are supposed to mean at the end with what's her name in Australia as an old woman?
insights/opinions pls

Is Kevin the new Christ?!?!? I really hope they steer this away from the Christianity angle, but it looks like we're going to get an interpretation featuring the Book of Revelations this last season.. :?

the opening scene seems to foreshadow that an end of days is not where this is going, that apocalyptic beliefs are baloney and the seventh anniversary of the departure will just be another day. this is somewhat confirmed by an old nora in australia, as that scene couldn't happen if the world ended or everyone dies. we know that nora and kevin go to australia this season, so i'm guessing he'll sacrifice himself somehow, like christ, to save humanity, and the doves are bringing messages from grateful followers/believers of what kevin did.

or not, i dunno. the leftovers!

Spoiler: show
Tonight's episode was pretty good. Hearing the "Perfect Strangers" theme song made me laugh. The Australian part of the episode was crazy. I wondered if the Kangaroos were demons.. A cult prophesying Kevin Down Under!! It was also nice to see Regina King again. The scene with Nora and Tom was good. I loved following her this week. Cousin Larry!! The scientist cult should be interesting as well. Can't wait to follow Kevin's dad next week!

I thought last week's premiere was really good. There is really nothing like this show on TV right now. I'll watch last night's episode sometime this week.

I got a little paranoid because of what happened with LOST..The end of that made feel like I left a Haunted House and was pulled into a tent to be saved. I think this show will do something different, though. It's too difficult to not enjoy this show. Last night's episode was really good as well. Once we get to the end, I'm hoping for either no answer or Aliens.. :P

Spoiler: show
After the cameo by the perfect strangers guy and his talk about a device and how it can send people to where the 2% went - it does seem like Lindelof has a quantum theory obsession. He can't write a tv series without using it as a plot device.

I doubt it ends up being anything more than a red herring. He's obviously delusional and desperate to believe in something

I fully expect that as well. It had a lot of 'Lost' vibes at that moment though.

She's crushing 2017. With leading roles on 'The Leftovers' and 'Fargo' she's on the top.

I wasn't thrilled with the stay with one character through the entire episode deal last week, and ultimately kevin's dad isn't a character im all that intetested in

i'm starting to wonder if this whole departure thing even happened, and we're just seeing the world through a bunch of crazy peoples' eyes.

I had the same thought last night. The implosion of Kevin/Nora was handled really well.
