Bret saying he wouldn't loose in Canada, and then saying he didn't want to loose in Detroit (earlier at a house show). The bottom line was he didn't want to loose to Shawn.

Yes, Bret got screwed, he even gave them the opportunity in the match that HBK and VKM needed just because he thought it would never happen to a hero like him.

I've always taken Bret's side, but dude- he was going to WCW- he could've dropped it to someone else for a day then get it back on Michaels.

BTW his book is the best wrestling book I've read. Amazingly detailed. I gotta go back and read what he wrote about that who situation again soon when i get time.

I understand where Bret was coming from, but to me you can't dictate the circumstances of your final match when you are the champion and are leaving for the rival promotion.

Except Bret has creative control over the last 90 days if he was to ever leave the company in case a situation like this ever occured.

It's fine that he had that, but it doesn't make what he did right. I'm not saying Bret was completely at fault, McMahon obviously could have found a way around him refusing to lose to Shawn. Once Vince made the call to go through with that match though, as far as I'm concerned Bret has to drop the belt whether he's comfortable with it or not.

Say what you want about them, but the fact the company does stuff like this on a regular basis more than makes up for any negatives

Nice, moving video. The people who gave that video a thumbs down should be shot.

Probably the best thing about the network is getting to listen to Bobby Heenan.

I was watching an old war games match from the early 90s that featured a younger jim Ross and Ventura on commentary. It was probably the best commentary team I've heard.

Ventura will always be my favorite heel commentator. Heenan is a close second, though.

the one where warrior gives 'the little engine that could' to vince? there were a few different warrior things available on the network i noticed, but i watched this one this weekend. if it's the same one you're referring to, yeah, it was pretty special. very moving.
just watched this on this recommendation. damn.

say what you want about wrestling, there are real people & real lives behind it all, and some of it is damn interesting.

I thought that was a good show. The 2 main events were so stellar that it really didnt matter what else happened.

Also, I wanna bang Paige.
