Anyone ever buy anything from Rondo Music? I think its mostly Asian made shit as its dirt cheap, but some this stuff looks tempting. I kinda want the sitar.

At guitar center the last one they had was on clearance for 420.99 or something, but when the guy rang it up it was actually 389.99. The 112 cab was on clearance also! I couldn't pass it up.

Yeah, they usually slash prices at the end of/beginning of the new year to make room for new models. That's a helluva steal. My brother's been with Guitar Center for a while, but he recently changed coasts moving to LA with his wife. He told me a couple weeks ago that Trey Parker came in one day and dropped several thousand on new gear. Eric Cartman rocks out.

bought a used Gibson LP Studio on the weekend for $500. a 2012 in ebony, because pretty much all my guitars are black. i'm quite impressed with it so far. I was a bit concerned that the chambered body would affect the tone but right now i'm appreciating the weight reduction and i'm not feeling that the tone or sustain is suffering at all. i'm also digging the thin profile on the neck. i'm no expert on the subject but it's very similar to the neck on my Epi G-400 SG. the neck on my Gibson SG is very fat, which i also really like when playing low and heavy but the thin profile is nice for quicker playing.

this one has a granadillo fretboard which to my understanding is a wood that Gibson experimented with for a few years after their warehouse was raided by the government and a lot of their wood was confiscated. besides the color which is noticeably lighter than rosewood (see the photo with the SG for comparison) it doesn't seem to be all that different to my ears and fingers.

haha well it's definitely lighter than a few LPs i've played over the years. the 490 and 498's are great, same set i've got in the SG. LOVE those pickups. no coil tap though. i was surprised when looking up the specs after i bought it that there should have been a coil tap. it was made in Jan 2012 so maybe it was actually a 2011 model? not that it really matters. i don't need or even really want the coil tap.

I bought a Fender Blacktop Baritone Telecaster in 3 color sunburst yesterday. Its soooo cool and soooo low.

niiiiiice. a baritone is up next on my gear wishlist. i like that it has a humbucker, i would definitely need that in a baritone.

I played one of the Squire VI modified basses today. Owning one and running it through my Zvex Fuzz Factory is the only thing I can think about now.

I saw a Fender version when it came out, but after playing it once, it quickly disappeared. Probably pretty similar to the baritone in terms of playability and sound. I was thinking about getting a Taylor acoustic-electric, one of the low end models, just to have one, but seeing the baritone and knowing I could get a Taylor at any time, I went with the choice that could easily vanish in just a short time. Already recorded a track with it. Sounds killer going through my Mesa with a screamer.

I'm in the market for one and am having a hard time deciding what to get.

The Jerry Cantrell signature Dunlop wah gets pretty good reviews from all sorts of people, though it's not true bypass apparently...though I don't know if that really matters on my signal chain since I only have about 4 pedals to link up.

I have an MXR CAE wah and a Fulltone Clyde Deluxe that are both really cool.The Fulltone has a lot of quack and reminds me more of the classic Page/Hendrix Vox-y sound and the MXR is more modern sounding to me.
