it's strangely empty feeling to know that one of the few life time idols i've ever had is dead. I miss the man and am pained to learn he'd been slowly dying over the last year and a half.

this is one of the few true artists of my time, i hope to never forget him.
I'm sorry mary.

Nice words :peace:

"Stage" and "Lodger" are my favorite Bowie albums. He was at his peak then, IMO, though most people would probably disagree.

'He's the next bowie'

Words you've never heard or will hear. He was on another level beyond reach.

Annie Clark has the potential. She wants to be the next Bowie.

Not sure she'll ever get there. Hopefully she's just happy being the first Annie Clark. That's where she belongs. She's her own kind of genius. I don't want the Bowie comparisons for the rest of her career.

I'm going to make it my personal mission to kill anyone that says that.

Remember when musicians were prolific?

GH is too prolific.

But seeing what happened today I want all my favourite bands and artists just to make more music and quicker and stop being precious about it just put it out.

I'm gonna try to put together a "Dream" tribute album for Bowie. What bands would I most want to hear cover which Bowie songs...?

For sure St. Vincent covering Girl Loves Me would be on there. :heartbeat:

Look up Ben Harper and ed doing under pressure from hard rock calling in London.

Witnessed that in person when they came to Australia. Best part of the night.

Mad respect to the Goblin King and his conspicuous package. For those wanting to see Bowie and smile, check out the episode of Extras where he sings "Sad Little Fat Man" about Gervais' character. Dance magic dance!

PS. Scott Weiland has a nice little cover of the Jean Genie out there.

Watched that earlier today. It's actually really good. I expected it to be weird. But it's really lovely. :heartbeat:

I was at that show and it remains the most pointless PJ gig I ever attended. 80,000 people in Hyde park in London.

Only highlights- under pressure with Ben Harper and PJ opening with given to fly.

I thought so too :nice:

And to top it off the next song in the setlist was Ben+R7's amazing version of INXS's 'Never Tear Us Apart' (it was the anniversary of Michael Hutchence's death).

saying anyone is the next anyone else is completely asinine
