Rumor has it that there were only 100 copies available for pre-order today. So don't lose hope!

Brett wrote:I've had a Pandora account for about ten years now, and for a while just seeded all the music I liked on one station, which was cool because then it could use multiple metrics to recommend some pretty idiosyncratic stuff. Anyway, the other day a song came up that I knew I quite liked and had thumbed-up some time ago. I was pretty surprised to discover that it was "Between Days" by Red House Painters. I had pretty much convinced myself that Kozelek wouldn't be for me since his douchiness seems all-encompassing and impenetrable, and I was also pretty sure most of his music was in the sad bastard folk style that I don't feel compelled to get deep into. "Between Days" is a pretty surprising refutation of those assumptions.

So my question to you Koz fans is, are there any other songs in the guy's catalog that are in a similar vein to that tune? I know his catalog is pretty big, so I'm not interested in exploring it all in addition to the reasons outlined above, but it would be nice to hear more music of that caliber.

With media mail postage they were going for $112.49 (that includes 4 albums, 6 LPs total). Some people have heard that the in-store edition will have an MSRP of $150.

But there also seems to be plenty of support for the rumor that each album is also going to get an individual release. Stay tuned!

I'm not signed up for their e-mail list--I just happened to log onto Vinyl Collective right before hopping in the shower. What was the time stamp on the e-mail? Some people said they weren't notified until the sale was over.

Thanks for the recommendations, guys. "San Geronimo" and " Wop-a-Din-Din" were both examples of what I was after, so I'm pleased with that. All the other tunes ranged from nice-but-not-for-me to pretty good, so I guess I can't just dismiss Mark out of hand entirely.

Keep an eye on your favorite online music retailers this week, or send a message to your favorite record store owner: places are starting to take pre-orders for the Vinyl Film box set (limited to 500, includes Kozelek, Sun Kil Moon, Mike McCready, and others). I was able to get an order in at Bull Moose today but it's not guaranteed.

RHP box has arrived; 597/1500. Sort of paranoid about opening it, but will probably spin a bit today.

Someone take my digital download!
