So this was really terrible. Rushed, sloppy exposition dumps, hilariously bad makeup and effects, absurdly lame jokes. Marvel's supposed to be great with characters, but Carol Danvers is the flimsiest etch-a-sketch of a human. A quip machine with no real personality.

Basically a two-hour version of an Agents of SHIELD episode. Even Venom was better than this

She is such a beauty. The movie was not good at all, but it had its moments. I think it was better because of Larson for sure, because it was so weirdly directed...that fight scene with No Doubt? Embarrassing.

Sam Jackson was cool too.

the fight was okay, but that music choice was way too on the nose, to the point of being distracting.

That agents of shield comparison is fair (a better acted episode, but still) but I found her character compelling. It may be the performance more than the writing/arc.

It'll be interesting to see if they have these directors come back. I wonder what the Russo's will do with her. The team who writes for their movies are really good at making almost every line service a character

it was so fucking weird...almost as they put the music with the whole scene already edited.

her ‘arc’ is pretty parallel to the first cap movie. who they are doesnt change as much as they grow into their potential. she isnt a tragic character the way cap is though.

Damn she is beautiful.

Brie Larson is a special talent. We've seen major, major actors taking on super-hero roles for a long time now, so maybe this doesn't feel as big or whatever, but landing her was a huge get. She might be the most talented pure actor in the Marvel-verse. I'm kinda bummed to hear that the movie isn't anything special. But that's fine. I'm sure she's amazing in it and the first Cap movie was pretty blah as well.

Hopefully, by the time she's completed her contract they've given her a script that worthy of her phenomenal talent.
