you heard it here first, folks. I'll go out on a limb and say married to Tyrion, but I'm less confident about that.

i think the biggest twist of this books could be that Dany is not really Danaerys Targaryean, but rather a girl of valyrian descent passed off as her to win Khal Drogo over to their cause. I guess it depends on what Varys and Mopatis's motivations are for their scheming.
I've also been reading kind of a dense essay on how this is possible, but i think its more of a case of the unreliable narrator a la Sansa mistakenly remembering the hound kissed her

thats why i kinda brush it off, but the one thing I can't get past is the lemon tree outside of the house in braavos she lived in... Lemons cannot grow in the cold and wet climate of braavos, but they can in southern Essos/Westeros. Someone posed a question to George which he acknowledged as being observant, but he couldn't just give away any significance to that information at that time. Like i said, the essay is dense and relies heavily on confirmation bias, but who knows.

The lemon tree was a gift from Oberyn when he went to Braavos to sign the marriage pact between Viserys and Arianne.

The biggest surprise would be if there were no surprises, and no twists. It would also be slightly boring. So someone has to die, and something has to happen. I can't see Dany and Jon living happily ever after in King's Landing with lots of kids. However, I'm quite certain that the humans will beat the white walkers somehow, even if at great cost. Hopefully with at least one episode to spare, so we are left with answers for the future in the last episode.

Just finished A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. About Dunk and Egg( a young Aegon Targaryan). Really really enjoyed it. Good to see Martin pull his focus in to just two main characters. Great story.
Now started the Princess and the Queen. No idea what it's about but the blurb sounds cool
“The Princess and The Queen,
Or, The Blacks and The Greens
Being A History of the Causes, Origins, Battles, and Betrayals of that Most Tragic Bloodletting Known as the Dance of the Dragons, as set down by Archmaester Gyldayn of the Citadel of Oldtown”
Excerpt From: George R.R. Martin. “The Princess and The Queen, Or, The Blacks and The Greens"

Love those Dunk and Egg tales. Can't wait to read about them at Winterfell.

Are there other books? This was one long one. I happily would read one as long again.

What you read was a collection of the first three, which are the only ones published. More are planned but you know how George is.
