some really great lyric/delivery combos in this one.

Imperceptibly big
as big as the ocean
and equally hard to control

is maybe my favorite - the way it sounds like he is working through his thoughts in real time (a hallmark of his best deliveries) and the overwhelmed inflection in his voice on ‘hard to control’

Stip, right on about those lyrics. I also love the beginning; someone here said it was like Ed was singing through his teeth again.

So save your predictions
And burn your assumptions
Love is friction
Ripe for comfort
Endless equations
And tugging persuasions
Doors open up
To interpretation

I still can't believe this has an RM 91% approval rating. RM can unite the country. RM for president.

i always associate it with his singing style during the 1999-2001 era.

I can totally picture 90s Ed singing this and it's not far off from how it currently sounds. The man did a great job on this.

I started a thread dedicated to Ed's gilet the other day. It was shut by the mods. Inexplicable.

Probably my favourite song off of Lightning Bolt: Inexgiletable.

If Mach III is just the studio version of Dance with the band pretending to perform on stage against the stock footage background, call me disappointed.

If it's a live version, well then, helloooooo!

Happy Mach III day today everyone!!

Who knows what treasures today may hold:

1) new corporate sponsorship with Gilette to promote Mach III blades as a throwback, just like Pearl Jam. Disposable razorblades fit with a netjets sensitivity to environmental issues so this doesn’t seem far-fetched

2) More stock footage of the band lip synching on stage to a recording

3) A new Instagram promotional effort that draws PJ fans directly to the afterburners of military aircraft to dance in euphoria right before activation of mach 3 speed in an effort to purge them from the face of the earth with hot fire

4) A new hat for Malibu Stacey

5) Additional close-ups of Ed’s Gilet that allow us to decode the greatest mystery since nicholas cage found a treasure map on the back of the declaration of independence: the provenance of Ed’s gilet

6) A combination of #1 and #5, taking dual and cross branding efforts to new heights as Ed prominently features both his Gilet and Gilette Mach 3 blades in the video, dancing and singing with them both simultaneously, and subsequently launching an Instagram treasure hunt that leads fans to the Gilette factory in Bangladesh where the blades are made by 9 year olds, and the Gilet factory in Milan where the Gilets are handcrafted by Gilet artisans that work exclusively in the art of Gilet

stay tuned!!!!

I hope this is better than The Fixer promo video. The audience in that thing really irritated me.
