An understandable mistake, given that every minute he speaks feels like an eternity. I don’t understand why even his most steadfast supporters haven’t realized he’s a psychic vampire capable of sapping their mental energy through the tv screen.

I've seen enough commentary about this. Kind of like, she knew exactly how to rile him up and step back and watch him self destruct. By beginning the debate with "he will lie" and then being able to reply simply work "see, I told you he would lie", was a good move.

Also going to shake his hand at the beginning was a very good strategic move.
