Why bother. I can just open any Star Wars thread here and read you doing it.

What's funny is that Pride (In the Name of Love) is playing in the background as I read the above exchange. No schtick. It's perfect.

Steve Albini wrote:Whenever there's active promotion on the part of somebody else, whenever I see somebody all dolled up for a fancy photograph and someone's handing out flyers or whenever there's active promotion for something like that, as an imposition on my day, I hate all those people and I want them to fail. I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

Re: What podcasts are you listening to?
This is a fantastic and fascinating listen. And a scary one
Bill Browder is Vladimir Putin’s No. 1 enemy. Armed with a true life story cut straight from a bestselling thriller, listen as Bill grippingly recounts his tale from Red Notice in an extraordinary interview, which sees him placed on Interpol’s most-wanted list, exposing crime, corruption and conspiracy at the highest levels of the Kremlin, and rededicating his life to find justice for his friend and lawyer Sergei Magnitsky, killed at the hands of the Russian government. There’s also the small matter of a missing $230 million... Buckle in.

I've listened to 99% invisible here and there, but suddenly I'm really leaning into this series. This one (Frozen Music) is my favorite. https://99percentinvisible.org/episode/ ... zen-music/
This one's great too. https://99percentinvisible.org/episode/u-t-b-a-p-h/

Never been to a podcast taping before, but got Comedy Bang Bang 10th Anniversary Tour tickets this morning. Never thought anything like that would come to Providence, so it was a nice surprise.

I saw CBB live in 2016 and it was a lot of fun. Any word on on who the guests will be?Simple Torture wrote:Never been to a podcast taping before, but got Comedy Bang Bang 10th Anniversary Tour tickets this morning. It's advertised as PFT and LL--not sure if there will be any other pop-ins.JuanHamm wrote:I saw CBB live in 2016 and it was a lot of fun. I quit the Eve Ensler WTF after she said, “I once wrote ‘Bullets are hardened tears.’”

Latest Deconstructed is a must listen.
Col. Lawrence Wilkerson, who served as chief of staff to then-Secretary of State Colin Powell during the run-up to the Iraq War, joins Mehdi Hasan to discuss the lessons of recent history.

The Anthropocene Reviewed seems like something durden would like a lot.
I've been listening to episodes lately. The Piggly Wiggly one and the Canada Geese one were both pretty good.
Here on The Anthropocene Reviewed, John Green reviews different facets of the human-centered planet on a five-star scale.
