The single really should have been 99 Problems performed by Jean Tripplehorn as Julie Andrews

Here's an audiophile question: A few weeks ago I was listening to my copy of the Vic CD, the Vault show that was released about a year and a half ago, on headphones. I noticed that between tracks, there is a little blip as the disc changes from one track to the next. It's not a "gap," per se--it's still a pretty seamless flow--but it's definitely there. Does this have to do with the source files used to create the disc, or with something involved in burning procedure? Either way now that I've heard it I can't stop hearing it--it makes the recording feel extremely unprofessional. Please tell me it's not because the recording is MP3 sourced.

It's called "frameloss" ... it could be due to a few things: the quality of the music burned, the burner itself malfunctioning, splitting tracks incorrectly (ie not using a program like CD Wave), or another random reason.
My copy of the Vic does this as a handful of times and, yes, is disappointing. I can't confirm it's mp3 or not, but if it was entirely mp3 sourced, the frameloss would occur throughout the show.

Interesting; I purchased the FLAC version of that show and I've never heard anything like that between tracks, KD.
Given the nature of how the physical versions are produced, burning-to-order onto CD-R, I guess it wouldn't necessarily surprise me if errors sometimes made it through to the final product (disappointing and unacceptable as it is).

That's one of the more amusing photos I've ever seen. They're all like caricatures of themselves.

Eddie Vedder, on the other hand, looks almost young enough to be a Rolling Stone

PREDICTION: After nailing the selection for the 2013 Vault release, the 2014 one will probably be a 2000 show. Or one of the 2003 ones that got commercially released. Or another 1992 show.
