I watched this last night. Thought it was pretty good. Maybe not as good as the reviews are making out, but I enjoyed itMickey wrote:The Vast of Night.

i like it enough. I loved the setting, the photography, the acting...the camera work and production values. Its very well made. The scrip is pretty weak yeah, but its a very cool enjoyable scifi movie.
I was blown away with some sequences...the camera work is great.Mickey wrote:VinylGuy wrote:The Vast of Night.

About halfway through so far. It’s in the vein of All The President’s Men. My girlfriend went to take a shower, she thought it was boring. But I like it. Well acted, very straightforward true story.VinylGuy wrote:how was it?Anders wrote:Official Secrets
Oh yeah and I loved how they really embraced the radio show conventions, so much of the movie is just dialogue/monologue, but the acting was great. The old woman especially had me riveted.VinylGuy wrote:I was blown away with some sequences...the camera work is great.Mickey wrote:VinylGuy wrote:The Vast of Night.

yeah, i was super into that scene....the same with Billy 's call. The movie is really good with the radio setup and dialogue/monologue.Mickey wrote:Oh yeah and I loved how they really embraced the radio show conventions, so much of the movie is just dialogue/monologue, but the acting was great. Yes! I loved the opening scene with the random interviews at the basketball game. It was so close to being a great movie. Seriously excited for whatever this director does next.VinylGuy wrote:yeah, i was super into that scene....the same with Billy 's call. I saw Bogdanovich introduce this film at a festival some years ago. He talked about how it was originally called Squirrels to Nuts and was meant to be like a 50s screwball comedy. It played really well but I'd be curious to rewatch it because sometimes hearing an audience laugh uproariously at every joke colors your perception a littledurdencommatyler wrote:She's Funny That Way (2014)
It was on HBO Max and I'd never heard of it before. Just a stupid awesome cast. Directed by Bogdanovich. Described as a farcical romantic comedy set in the world of Broadway theater. Hell ya! So of course I watched it.
What a weird fucking movie.
