Post-season matchups...
Spoiler: show
PLAY-IN GAME
LCS Argonauts @ Chudville Nine

The Chudville Nine hosts this game by virtue of winning the regular season series, 5-1. Also, since this game is technically a regular season game, the starters are still subject to the same rest rules. So in essence, Chudville Nine can start either Seaver*, Martinez or Roberts, Argonauts can start either Ryan or Scott. This game will take place on Tuesday.

* - Seaver would be on two games' rest, but according to my notes, Chud still has two uses of short rest left.

ROUND ONE
1. Winning By Numbers vs. 4. Chudville Nine/LCS Argonauts

2. Kaius' Garainals vs. 3. Aubrey Plazas

The higher seed has home field advantage. The series is a 2-2-1-1-1 format. Starting pitchers are considered fully rested at the start of the series. Each team can start a pitcher on two games' rest a single time throughout the entire playoffs. These series will start on Wednesday.

Greg? Maddux's final case for Most Outstanding Pitcher...

8-3 record, 2.39 ERA, 1.09 WHIP, 12 quality starts out of 14, 5.47 K/BB ratio.

More impressive are his second half numbers, though...

5-1 record, 1.06 ERA, 1.02 WHIP, 7 quality starts out of 7, 5.5 K/BB rario, .186 BAA

I'm curious to see which other pitchers are in contention. These numbers seem crazy good for whatif.

My teams need to stop falling so far behind early on in these things. I finished up 14-10 (and 7-1 the last 4 days), but I was so far back by that point that it didn't matter what I did. I'm pretty sure in the Franchise Tournament I started 11-19 and finished 19-11.

Wade Boggs finishes up as the team MVP.

I'm gonna blame Morgan's terrible season on his .229 BABIP. If you plug in my team average BABIP there (.301) then he probably rates as a one of the best players of the tournament.

I'm guessing it's gonna be a Seaver-Ryan matchup.

Well, if we keep the pattern we've had, the next tournament is gonna be a non-draft tournament. Then we'll do the Integration Era one, and then as soon as the MLB season ends and they add the 2015 stat to whatif, we'll do the annual Franchise one.

I know some you guys want to do one with a buy-in too. We can work that into the schedule as well.

I'm not sure if there's gonna be enough legit themes to do a non draft one every other time.

I'm all for going down the list of eras, then do an all time one, breaking it up with the annual franchise tournament.

I think we could all ask ourselves the same thing, given the season he had.

But I have the homer element going for me, too.
