Ed did an interview on Australian radio today

I think it’s about the eight minute mark he drops “I’ve got unreleased Pearl Jam songs in my head as we speak”.

Interesting.

Bodes well.
What if he’s busy puttin’ a little fixin’ on ‘em?
Someone needs to fight him to get 'em back again
I bet you Jeff could whoop Ed’s butt.
You DID see the video of Jeff getting mugged, right?
No.

Where? Link?

I shook Jeff’s hand once and the man has incredible grip strength.

i listened to this front to back tonight. it's still amazing this is what they released in 2020. this might be their most experimental and diverse album. i don't think there's a bad song on here. its incredible to span every sound in their career and then some and not come out with any clearly obvious clunkers. is it too soon to say this might be their best album ever? no code and yield are my favorite, and after a year a like gigaton possibly more than when it came out.

i know everyone here likes list. this is where i'm at:
Dance of the Clairvoyants
Who Ever Said
Quick Escape
River Cross
Comes Then Goes
Take the Long Way
Alright
Never Destination
Buckle Up
Superblood Wolfmoon
Seven O'Clock
Retrograde

what's experimental about it? using a synth on dotc?

I still think after a year this is a great album. I legitimately like every song on here, and quite possibly it’s lowest point is higher than the high points on Backspacer and Lightning Bolt (though I do really like Pendulum). It has career defining highs (for me Dance of the Clairvoyants and Quick Escape at the very least), and no obvious lows. I would probably put this somewhere 5-7 on my list of favorite Pearl Jam albums which is really saying a lot. Don’t think I can say even in the best of moods that it could be my favorite but that doesn’t make it any less astounding 30 years into their music.

Superblood Wolfmoon is - it immediately presents as a poppy rock song but on further listens there are a lot of time changes and a mosaic like feel that doesn’t comport to a standard rock song - the chorus is delivered, if there is one, at odd moments in the song. It’s almost like a puzzle that’s been spread across the table and not put together yet, though somehow in an order. I would call that experimental.

Edit: I will note that this and the last post are me talking about this album but I haven’t heard it in probably months. Doesn’t take away from still enjoying this though.

I’d agree with warehouse.
They managed to find their best elements and essence of their sound and do it in a whole new way that’s both recognisable and new. Definitely up there with their greats.

that entire song sounds like an experiment. and there's instrumentation on here we haven't heard from them before. i noticed the drums standing out when i listened last night. a lot of it is probably production choices that they've seem to steer away from. i feel a song like River Cross could have gone in a different direction and been as cheesy as sirens, but they seem like they are looking for something different with this album.

Feel so much the same way (including the parts about Pendulum, DOTC and QE).
