As long as you have some sort of reasoned approach when making a big purchase, you're okay in my book. It's the unthinking consumers that I'm really railing against here.
Well I know damn well I’ve mowed enough yards with a gas mower, push and rider, to earn the right to buy an electric now.

And like strat, I do dream of buying an electric car and having solar panels one day.

Cord can also get in the way! what a pain!
Mine is cordless

I’m in awe of the foresight it took to put this thread in A&E and not GD.

My new warranty replacement battery and my 2 batteries I had ordered extra have all been delivered. And my new dual-port fast charger. Two of the batteries are already charged and I’m charging the third while we’re out running errands. Three batteries, three charging ports. It’ll be nice to get the yard mowed in one session again.

I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

Yeah one battery does our whole yard

It’s a half acre. The batteries are 40v 5Ah. I would get 2/3-3/4 of the yard done last year before the battery died and I’d have to wait 5-6 hours for the battery to charge so I could finish.

No longer.

Pretty sure all the gardening threads were lost in the purge so I will tell you here that we planted flowers this weekend, strawberries, peas, and bell pepper.

Dammit. No, we are not.
