I might see it.
I'm right about this.durdencommatyler wrote:Mickey wrote:Yeah it was weird, the individual scenes had some absolutely stunning writing and acting--Bening and the kid's fights were great--but it didn't really build to anything? Bening was great but the beat-you-over-the-head HISTORY IS HAPPENING was too corny for my tastes.

Yeah she really went for it. Since the pandemic started i saw The Invisible Man, Shirley and Her Smell and she was incredible on all of them. The Argonaut wrote:re: Vox Lux/Her Smell
They do tread similar ground, and at the end of the day I'd agree that the only thing special about either one of them is the lead performance. That said, I saw them both around the same time and right now I can still vividly recall elements of what Moss did, but I can't say the same for Vox Lux. Moss was great
Have you seen Invisible Man? She is super good there. Acting mostly by herself.Mickey wrote:Yeah I really enjoyed Shirley but she carried that movie.
This is pretty much my take on this tooMickey wrote:Palm Springs was fun. That's about it.

how was it?Mickey wrote:The Old Guard.
It was okay. Theron was good, Layne was quite bad, some of it was really corny but not an unenjoyable action movie.VinylGuy wrote:how was it?Mickey wrote:The Old Guard.
So... An enjoyable action movieMickey wrote:but not an unenjoyable action movie.
I didn't regret my time, put it that way.E.H. Ruddock wrote:So... An enjoyable action movieMickey wrote:but not an unenjoyable action movie.

I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.
