I enjoyed the last scene. It was charming.

No, it was another awkward self-excited moment caught on tape and put forth to the masses. At least Getaway is a decent song.harmless wrote:What, that looked good did it?wilkins wrote:Cue Eddie and Laird in his truck playing Big Wave...harmless wrote:If I was going to do a short video to advertise a new poetry book, I wouldn't have a scene where I got overly excited about my own poems, jizzed over the pages or anything. Re: Lightning Bolt - October 15
Someone said this earlier but we constantly assume a band that has spent 20 years recording themselves, appearing on magazine covers, being talked about, etc. is shockingly unself aware. The other possibility is that we keep missing the jokeharmless wrote:That's a good thought. I like the idea that they know they don't look cool. Perhaps my laughter reaction was the one they intendedstupidmop wrote:They probably planned the accidental music, i dont think they decided 'and then, we dance'. They could have taken it out or they could have said 'Ed you sucker, we're leaving the dorky dancing in muahaha'.harmless wrote:Goofy dancing as spontaneous gig thing can be forgiven. They actually planned this, though. It was like a scene which was deliberated over. It's staged and contrived.stupidmop wrote:Stone is thinking : yes
And that goofy dancing is exactly what he does on stage anyway.
It's lamer when you consider the option that that sequence was probably was entirely planned out lol.
They know they don't look cool here lol.
More contrived to me are the cool blurry shots of ed lookin all cool and shit
'just stand there for a second ed, no! no smiling'
Nice sunglasses though.
