It's lamer when you consider the option that that sequence was probably was entirely planned out lol.
Goofy dancing as spontaneous gig thing can be forgiven. They actually planned this, though. It was like a scene which was deliberated over. It's staged and contrived.
They probably planned the accidental music, i dont think they decided 'and then, we
dance'. They could have taken it out or they could have said 'Ed you sucker, we're leaving the dorky dancing in muahaha'.

That's a good thought. I like the idea that they know they don't look cool. Perhaps my laughter reaction was the one they intended
Someone said this earlier but we constantly assume a band that has spent 20 years recording themselves, appearing on magazine covers, being talked about, etc. is shockingly unself aware. The other possibility is that we keep missing the joke
