So you don't constantly have to be changing fighters depending on different enemies?

I might be ok with that then

Right, and you can do a lot of the enemy fighting yourself if you want, you just have limited energy in the swordfighting mode (it increases with play). The echoes aren't just of "fighters" they are also of inanimate objects, which you use constantly to solve ways to move around.

I love echoeing a bed in the middle of anywhere and resting to regain hearts.

Wrapped this up yesterday. Probably the best non-mainline Zelda released. I stayed internet-free for this and wound up with 36/40 Hearts, 23/25 stamps, 139/150 might crystals, 122/127 echoes. I got the + times in all races, mango harvests, dojo challenges and acorn hunts.

I used the internet after the endgame and got 100% of everything. Oh, the Lynel echo is op af.

I completed the "unofficial - official" Zelda game, Ancient Stone Tablets today. It was only released in Japan through Satellaview. An unusual curio that felt more like a proof-of-concept than a proper Zelda. Short and easy.

Ct or Md - any word on Black Friday discounts for Nintendo games? Will this Zelda game be $40?

The new one? Doubtful. Probably for $50 or so. TotK is $50 right now.

It's $45 right now at Woot. Given how new this is, it probably won't get much cheaper than that.

Given how staggered these holiday/ Black Friday / Cyber Monday sales, it's hard to know whether or not you should pounce or wait. I've seen $40 Metroid Dread and Luigi's Mansion 3, but I haven't bought them yet. I recommend dekudeals.com. it tracks prices of games. You can choose your consoles, digital and/or physical, etc. Much better than an Amazon wishlist.

Good call.

Metroid Dread is a fantastic game. I really should replay it soon.

This was fine. Interesting concept, but way too much scrolling and passive play. Fighting bosses was just echoing strong bad guys and dodging attacks. I think I had almost $2k at the end. There was nothing to spend money on other than smoothies. I was close to getting 100% on echoes, but I think I missed 17 heart pieces. The gameplay wasn’t fun enough for me to want to go back and get 100%. I’m glad I played it, but it was pretty forgettable.

I think the Echo function would be baller in a BotW style Zelda game. Not as many, of course. There were too many. But maybe have slots to have like 5 echos to recall. And if you wanted a different one you had to go kill that enemy again and drop one in your inventory.
