Red Mosquito

So, I have the ability to look at any beer menu and choose the beer that has run out. It drives me completely batshit. Last night, I ordered a To Øl Dangerously Close To Stupid. They were out. "OK, so what's the seasonal here from Wicked Weed?" Well .... that's out two. The beer I got was my god damned 3rd choice. Haw River Oatmeal Pale Ale, if you're interested. Who knows if it was any good because it was drowned in disappointment.



On an unrelated note, I've obtained a six pack of Grapefruit Sculpin. I shall post my thoughts later.

Ha ha! I thought that was just me, good to know we're encouraging larger orders of good beer.

Alright, the Grapefruit was pretty awesome, but now that I know there is a Habanero one it lost a little luster. Jealousy apparently ruins my enjoyment of a beer.

I had the Smoked Apple Gose last night. Apple taste with a smoky, bacon finish. It was kinda bizarre. Liked it, but it's not something I'd have more than a couple times a year.

Yeah, once you start adding all those ingredients you kind of lose the plot a bit.

I loved it, but my mouth was on FIRE by the end.

I've had some jalapeno beer before, but the Sculpin was on another level. Those bitter hops with the heat wallop of the habanero go well together.

My wife had one sip, handed back and said "oh no, no, no, no".

Yeah it was really tasty, warm though, probably better for winter time. I liked it a lot.

Yeah, definitely warm. I have a pretty high tolerance for heat, but my mouth was burning by the end. I've never had anything quite that hot in beer / drink form (other than putting too much hot sauce in a bloody Mary).
