my popmarket order of 'you are free' was warped. i ordered it in april but hadn't yet listened to it a couple weeks ago. last week i wrote in and basically said, 'hey, i know this is late, but could i exchange this?' they kindly replied, 'yeah it's late but we'll do this for you anyway'. the new copy showed up today, so i'll give it a listen and see if i hear what you are.

i've had pretty good experiences with popmarket customer service over the years. if it's an issue for you maybe give them an email and see if they'll swap out?

I'm having the worst luck with vinyl deliveries lately. I pre ordered TMBG's Glean back in Feb. It was released at the beginning of April. I didn't get the vinyl, because of production issues, until July 28th. I pre ordered the new Mynabirds and got an email yesterday saying it would be delayed because of some production issue. So, still don't have that. AND I ordered a copy of In Utero in April on Amazon back in April and it's been delayed 4 times. Still don't have it.

To be fair, it's a really great little system. Super old school and the sound is pretty fantastic. I had to have a belt replaced on it about 15 years ago and I took it to this specialist because the parts aren't made anymore really and are hard to come by. The guy was blown away and wanted to buy the thing from me.

I have a receiver and a pair of Bose speakers. I just have to hooked 'em up yet.

The Bose speakers were a gift from my dad. So I didn't spend a penny on 'em.

They're also just too big and bulky for our apartment. Which is why we haven't hooked them up yet. And why I haven't hooked up my other turntable yet. I'm wanting to get some really nice, small, discreet, compact speakers to complete the setup.

But I'm also worried my dad will be offended that we didn't hook up his speakers.

From what I understand, this is a result of the recent vinyl boom--production plants just can't keep up with demand. Someone's name VC who works at a distributor has talked about how "street dates" for vinyl LPs are frequently best guesses.

Yeah, I checked the link. Just a bit out of my price range right now. But I'm definitely interested.
