Some interesting thoughts. He said it on TMZ in that video but he got cut off by the Angry Black Man on TMZ, and Kanye went over there and hugged him.
This idea ain’t new, it’s gaining traction in black activist groups; blacks didn’t get the official right to vote in the U.S. until 1965, that’s only 53 years ago; before that, blacks identifed as REPUBLICAN for generations (it’s the party of Lincoln, who emancipated them). It wasn’t until LBJ took on Civil Rights and Nixon invited the white Democrats to jump ship to the Republican side (“Southern Strategy”) that we saw the exodus of blacks to the Democratic side. And the large urban areas have been primarily governed by Democrats ever since, except blacks are still living in poverty and are disproportionately arrested and are disproportionately killed by violence and police brutality in those urban centers, despite the Democratic Governance; which has lead black activism to wonder if Group Think (mental slavery) and always voting the same way has done them a great disservice. Now, black activists are talking about a possible third party.
This is the same shit that Killer Mike got for doing a video on NRA TV, like OMG NRA BAD, except he provided a very intelligent explanation as to why disarming blacks when they’re 53 years outside of apartheid is a BAD fucking idea and that blacks joining the NRA en masse is a GOOD IDEA much like the Black Panthers, and the other thinking is mental brainwashing from white people.
And Kanye took it even further in that TMZ video (well, tried to) by saying that we can look BEYOND the black slavery issue and see that blacks and whites are actually enjoined in one prison system of the government.
We are so fucking POLARIZED, now, we can’t even engage in critical thinking.
If you take a college class on this topic, this is the kind of discussion that happens; you have exams about this shit.
Trump voters blame OBAMA for “increased racism” in this country, which is actually due to resentment that a black dude was in the White House, which led to a backlash; Trump isn’t responsible for more racism, either, no more than Obama was guilty of “not doing anything” about Chicago violence for the 8 years he was in office (as Kanye asserted); violence and oppression are local issues, enforced by systemic issues; but Malcolm X said that if blacks joined together in a mass uprising to demand change is the only way that change will occur, and he said that 55 years ago; Kanye says the problem is those icons like King and Malcolm X are too long ago, that someone more contemporary is needed, and that’s obviously correct.
Kanye’s biggest problem is that Twitter ain’t the best medium for what he’s trying to discuss. And I ain’t sure this country is ready to discuss it. Ain’t that woke yet. Kanye made an interesting point about Trump being a Superhero in hip hop back when Trump was a materialistic superhero. Materialism being, of course, a huge theme in hip hop. Capitalism is a big Ponzi Scheme and hip hop artists haven’t figured out, yet, that they tools of the top people in the Ponzi Scheme (and the rappers ain’t anywhere NEAR the top).
Kanye says his heroes are guys like Disney and Jobs and Ford.
Except when Disney’s creative artists wanted more hourly pay, in accordance with what was customary at the time, and they tried to (and ultimately did) form a labor union, Disney called them all Communists, and joined the McCarthy inquest. Henry Ford was anti Semitic and didn’t like immigrants. Steve Jobs was pretty much a selfish dickhead.
Black and poor whites are in a similar boat right now.
Will you at least concede that he is immensely talented? He's a dick head, but he is talented as hell.Jammer XCI wrote:Kanye continues to go full retard. I’m completely not surprised.
I legitimately love The College Dropout and most of Late Registration and Graduation. Everything after has been spotty as hell or just straight up horrible (Yeezus and Pablo specifically for the latter). Fantasy was the last album of his worth listening to if you asked me.Ello Sailor wrote:Will you at least concede that he is immensely talented? Completely agree. And I don't think he's the type of personality who can or will admit he needs help. Seems like he's too narcissistic. Whether it's bipolar disorder or whatever, his actions are very disconcerting.theplatypus wrote:The TMZ interview is very disturbing. I've said since the TLOP rollout that he's suffering from mental illness, and everything that's happened since has only confirmed it. This is a straight-up manic episode.
It's not even really about what he's sayingBurtReynolds wrote:Dev, these guys are never gonna get it, are they?
