The part that really tickles my pickle is the Cameron drum-fill bit..'One of the greatest of all-time" is a prettay, prettay, prettay high bar comment from Stone.

Cohen comparing it somewhat to State of Love and Trust was a surprise. Waiting for stevie, the title alone, i cant help but think of a total Ed song/folksy number that would easily fit on Earthling.
Same here...love the fact that Ed & Wotman were waiting for Stevie Wonder while writing it, and, apparently, McCready, given the descriptions of both the song and his playing, sounds like he was waiting for SRV. LOL

It was; I feel like Stone and Jeff are pretty good about talking about the music they make practically and getting into how it was made. Eddie is more likely to just start comparing to a wave. But that was a good interview, both with things that made me more interested in the record and some red flags, as well.

That’s basically what I’m feeling here.
I cant possibly imagine this

if a riff makes Matt Cameron play as well as he can (and not just "well enough"), I don't care who wrote it

I do not like your cynicism, but I do like how you've delivered it. Snorted.

Without a doubt. And stone is the guy to do it (or Jeff). Ed meanders away from discussions composition etc.

We now know that metal door snippet 5 is won’t tell a soul. I had thought maybe upper hand. In fact, they are reversed on the video. We get upper hand into won’t tell when it’s the opposite on the record. In almost 100% clip one is react respond. You can make out big open (sounds like Emaj) chord being played underneath Mike’s lead.

Ok - bring it on. This is gonna be a great week with the tourney starting and more clips.

Trag...you're up, buddy!

Sorry, folks
So incredibly frustrating to read all that behind the scenes stuff only to have Wotman and Ghanea take a dump all over it
Agreed, sadly — the production/mastering style of these guys is really at odds with more spontaneous creative approach that Stone describes. Still excited to hear the songs, but hearing Stone talk about the songwriting process really makes me wish a more documentary style approach had been taken at the boards.

I'm excited that the album apparently starts off strong and also ends strong. The first two rockers and the last two songs that close out the album are all being hyped up. Waiting for Stevie appears to be the centrepiece. This bodes well for the overall experience of listening to the album. If there is a song or two in between that is not as good, we quickly get back on track with a stronger one.

I'm most hyped that Scared of Fear is a Stone riff. Been waiting for a Stone rocker for ages. Do The Evolution and Life Wasted are some of my all time favorites

I've always assumed the slower, Pink Floyd sounding tune in the metal door leak (4th in sequence) was Won't Tell, followed by Upper Hand. Are you saying it's the opposite?

Has to be. We know won’t tell has the lyric “waiting for your message to come”. That’s clearly heard on clip 5. Upper Hand’s description now makes sense for the Pink Floyd sounding clip 4.

I read some impressions that said that Upper Hand starts off like Nothing As It Seems, which would line up with that. They could be reversed on metal door leak, or perhaps Won't Tell was skipped entirely on the leak, just like Running
