You know what they say "good artists borrow, great artists steal"...

Is this verging on Owl City/Postal Service territory?

I'm listening to the MASSEDUCTION album now. Not sure why I have this impression in my head that it's not very good. This thing kicks ass. Maybe I just wasn't very into the videos I watched of her performances for this album and that is what stuck in my head. The album itself is killer

The disappointing thing about trag is he can be such a nice, humble, intelligent guy... and then he behaves like this out of nowhere.

it's definitely part of it. But it's her choice to hire the dude. He's a hitmaker. He produces songs for the masses. You can hear it in the production and its ruining what began as a fun artistic path for this listener and former fan.
I didnt even know how this fella was until chinatown girl and that is a great song!

I get thinking this song sucks, but does this sound or is it produced anything like a 'hit?'

I may be more behind on how pop is adorned and arranged, because I'm not really hearing much comparison to most popular songs I'm aware of, nor does it really seem to sound much like Lorde or Taylor Swift, which I believe are the only two artists I've heard produced by Antonoff (who I admittedly don't know that much about beyond knowing the name).

I like the song, though, which helps. I'm also not sure how much Bowie I hear here, besides that particular vocal thing she does in the chorus. I'm sure the influence is there, but it's not immediately coming to my mind when listening.

first of all, after watching that video i feel like doing some coke* i really like it.

also, jack antonoff is a LOT more than a hit maker. just listen to taylor swift's folklore and see for yourself. his collaborations go WELL beyond polishing those songs to make them "hits."

i have really high expectations for this album, and i cannot wait to hear it in full.

*i've never done coke in my life
