The live versions of some of the tracks are a bit better but all this mid-tempo shit about checking your heart-rate and wearing your seatbelt is as bad as anything on Backspacer.
pearl jam band members are pushing 60, heart-rate is probably a daily worry
It's alright
to be alone
to check your heart rate
on your iphone.
this belongs in a museum.
It'll be featured in an exhibit at PJ30 35

it was great to finally hear some of these live. Quick Escape amd Who Ever Said translated perfectly. Retrograde sounded surprisingly good, but its hard to really recreate that ending

I will admit that Quick Escape live was pretty good.

I was always luke warm on the song, but I loved it live.

I brought a friend with me to the Hamilton show who hadn't heard Gigaton, and this was the song he kept talking about afterwards.

I kind of love Get It Back and wish it was on the album.

Quick Escape rocks, glad they have played it so many times, hope they keep it in the ready repertoire

It would be the best song on the album.

I really like Get It Back, too. And at this point I wouldn't even want it to replace anything that's already there. Just add it as a 13th track and I'm happy as ever.

I havent tried it in a mix to see how it flows, but off the top of my head i wouldnt lose any sleep with swapping out Never Destination (it would be fine as a non album b-side) and drop Get It Back in its place.

For the past couple of weeks my four-year-old has been requesting DOTC and Quick Escape, almost exclusively, every time we're in the car.

Victory is mine, at least for now.

I came to the conclusion today that the first 3 are really great. Comes and Goes is nice . Everything thing else is horrible. Can't Deny Me is better than half of this farce. Last place now.

DOTC is actually maybe a top ten song SBWM is exactly what I want to in this band along Who Ever Said. Songs 4-7 are complete album wreckers. River Cross it a great idea that became the worst song thatsnot Red Dot or Stupid mop.

River Cross, while flawed, is still more inspired and moving than most of Lightning Bolt and Backspacer.
