I admit it is time to revisit this song. Musically it has some really neat things happening as does Buckle Up. I certainly am not a Lighting Bolt fan, but I like Pendulum and The End way more. I know Pendulum isn't a closer. But the point is to compare it to similar song topically or musically.

Who Ever Said
Super blood
Dance
Pendulum
My Father's Son
Alright
Get it Back
Swallow Whole
Retrograde
Comes then Goes

Made with my least favorite two albums. Maybe this would be in my top 5. It's a interesting experiment. If I included a few tracks from Riot Act my 9th place album I could see it cracking the top 3.

So since my last post I have been gigatoning a bit. So Alright is really actually kind of nice. 7oclock is a little better probably because Biden is our current president. The line works well though for all presidents except Nixon. What ever song is after 7ocock is rubbish until it's not then it is great. Stone sticks it to Ed again on the song about seat belts. Here sing this bitch I hear him saying as turns the lyrics in. Mike and Jeff kinda own this thing.

Gigaton is still their best post-Yield album, and I love Riot Act.

As long as Jeff and Stone are still breathing there will always be the possibility of a good pearl jam album.

Agreed...with the caveat that i would rank Binaural ahead of it if i was allowed to make my own mix out of the sessions.

So if you take five American men all leaning on 60. If you presume that their next album comes out in 2026. Several of those men will be over sixty. At least one but more likely two will indeed be dead. Matt just spells longevity. Mike may be on the Keith Richards Rx plan so he will live forever. Ed is either a lizard person or part of the illuminati or both so he is good to go. This leaves a 60 year old skate punk, and a man that lost his own Grammy. It is sad but true. RIP Stone and Jeff.

It does always feel weird knowing that picked the right band to fold on.

This is entirely fair. Binaural and Riot Act are pretty close for me anyway.

I'm hopeful. The records from self-titled through Lightning Bolt were too sterile production-wise and had no ambience. I feel like with Gigaton, they found the perfect balance of experimenting a bit while still "being Pearl Jam," which is what they did best up until Riot Act. I'm hoping they stay on that track -- although Mr. Watt might have other ideas...
