Meanwhile remember the lady who accused Trump of rape in the '90s? He said he could not have done that because she was too ugly. So she filed a defamation suit. Today it was announced the Department of Justice will intervene on Trump's behalf; that the US Government be named the plantiff and the venue moved from state to federal court. William Barr did say that if the case is proved than the damages will be paid by the US Government and not by Trump personally.

i read that the reason for this was some BS about how his defamatory statements came while he was president and a sitting president cannot be sued so technically she is suing the federal government



also i understand not wanting to cause a panic for the people of the US (same reason i give bush a pass for still reading the book to the kids) but to continue downplaying it like he did and is while he could have nipped it in the bud by simply stating to be safe i think you should wear a mask should be impeachable

The Woodward tapes are bad, but it's not like we didn't know that he was lying about the severity all along. This is hardly news.

In my humble opinion, we have to stop playing the expectations game, or passing it off like “well we knew this so why is this news”...

The President of the United States is recorded as saying he lied to the American people for months about the severity of an illness that he was briefed was the largest national security threat to the country. His lies and the lack of federal response that emanated from that resulted in the deaths of thousands of Americans and this was done intentionally. That is patently outrageous for any leader anywhere. That he knew the danger in January 28th for certain, bragged about it to Bob Woodward on February 7th, and continues to this day to minimize that risk is unconscionable. It is as impeachable a dereliction of duty and active participation in exposing Americans to the threat of illness and death as anything I have ever heard from any president.

Yes, there are a lot of things in the news today that should be front and center in people’s minds as examples of the sheer level of corruption going on in his administration, but in no event should any American lose sight or perspective that their president actively misled them and put their health and safety at great jeopardy to prevent him from losing points politically. He must resign or be shown the door. There is no other way to look at this. This isn’t politics, this is an intentional act of betraying Americans.

Such subtlety here. I really can't grasp what underlying message he's trying to convey.

I finally broke down and had the conversation with my family. We CANNOT be okay with this, no matter how you feel about abortion, regulation or corporate taxes.
