Re: What are you playing?
I got the Last of Us II remastered PS5 upgrade for $10, and put in a few hours over the weekend. I don't remember how good the PS4 version looked and ran but this is a pretty jaw dropping experience. I'm really taking my time, and it feels like a fresh new game. This playthrough isn't at all tainted by all the anticipation and "controversies" amidst my first playthrough at the time of its release. Having a great time.

It's a stunning game. The acting, the animations, and art direction continue to be almost peerless.tree_ wrote:I got the Last of Us II remastered PS5 upgrade for $10, and put in a few hours over the weekend. Indeed. Blown away. Story is pretty good too. I forgot to mention I'm playing on the highest difficulty, "grounded", and it makes for a much more realistic experience. I've only died like 10 times so far.Monkey_Driven wrote:It's a stunning game. Yes, the higher difficulties improve the storytelling and gameplay versus just making it unnecessarily cheap or punishing.tree_ wrote:Indeed. Blown away. Story is pretty good too. Sames. TLOU2 is incredible top to bottom, nothing has matched it as a complete package since it's release IMO. The acting in the game is honestly better than the ridiculously overrated TV show. Seriously hoping Naughty Dog can provide at least one god damn new game on PS5 (aside from remakes/remasters). I've been playing the shit out of No Return.Monkey_Driven wrote:Yes, the higher difficulties improve the storytelling and gameplay versus just making it unnecessarily cheap or punishing.tree_ wrote:Indeed. Re: What are you playing?
Just after when Ellie and Dina get caught in Seattle and attempt to get free. Just too challenging with such limited resources. Not fun for me. Probably gonna start another playthrough on the second from hardest mode sometime soon.Monkey_Driven wrote:What part are you stuck on?tree_ wrote:So much for Grounded mode. Way too hard.

Re: What are you playing?
Finally figured out a way to organize the profiles on my son’s Switch so he won’t constantly play/delete my saved games, and I’m getting into Mario Bros Wonder. Will probably go with Odyssey next.

Fenyx: Immortals Rising turned out to be a lot of fun. It does some things better than Breath of the Wild and others not as well. The Switch could barely handle it, though. I played for 80 hours over a month and the software closed probably two dozen times. I’ve never experienced that before.

I about 2/3 of the way through that several years ago and stopped playing for one reason or another. Can't remember why.mf wrote:Dark Souls 3. started a couple years ago but didn't finish so i'm giving it another go.
