My Father's Son isn't just the best song on this album. It's one of their best ever. I could see it on anyone's top 10 list or something, and I'd totally understand. Holy shit it's amazing. That alone makes this album special, and ranks it above their past 2-3 for me.

Funny this came up. I liked it the other night when I first heard it, thought it was bad ass. But it hit me over the head on the way home, now I fucking love it. The streamed version sounds edited though, maybe?

The first three songs overall are pretty strong.

Album hurtles off a cliff after that.

Oh well, it's fun while it lasts.

I actually think the whole album is pretty damn good and flows nice right up until the end of yellow moon. Future Days might be my least favorite pearl jam song. Gross.

Im actually starting to like LTRP. I still thinkt he chorus sucks but i like the dirty grind of the verses and ed sounds good. I also think the band sounds fantsatic when they let loose at the end....

My old friend and frontman of my old band is going to listen to the album. He's not been interested since Yield and only heard a few songs here and there. Can't remember the song titles or anything. But he likes MYM and he likes Getaway. Fingers crossed. I'm dumbfounded that there are only three songs lacking BoB cheese on this album, so he's almost certainly going to be fooled into thinking the album rocks hard until track 4.
