Song of the Moment: Sirens

I'm hoping it isn't a hit.

Why not? I still not that into the song, hoping it gains strength in concert, but I'd rather hear Sirens than Maroon 5 or the latest Miley trainwreck.

I don't listen to the radio so I won't listen to any of them. The reason I don't want this to be a hit is that however much I like it, I don't want it to be the blueprint for future songs. I don't want PJ to have huge commercial success with BoB on board.

I hope it is a monster hit because I like when people are listening to my favorite band

Sure, thats nice and all but people who come on board for "Sirens" are not going to share my love for evacuation, light years, who you are, hail hail, the fixer , unemployable, brain of j....

Sirens would not be my first choice for a hit, mind you, but when a casual at best listener emails me to tell me he 'fucking loves sirens' I don't really care

Two of my music loving friends, with wide and varied tastes, have all rallied around Sirens. It is giving them a genuine feeling that they haven't gotten from PJ since 1998. I think a lot of it has to do with position in life, middle age and what not, but it's working.

Falling Slowly is actually from the movie Once and its a duet with Marketa Irglova and very beautiful. Its a pretty good movie full of Glen Hansard's songs. Say it to me now is a amazing song done by Glen also in that movie. Check it out. Also Glen Hansard and Eddie singing that song is on the PJ Twenty tour. It was not on the PJ twenty movie. A lot of artists joined Pearl Jam in random cities on that tour.

There were two Lightning Bolt commercials during the first hour of SNL last night. I mean, it was the same commercial, aired twice. But I heard about 10 seconds of Sirens. As many of you know, I've been on PJ blackout mode in prep for the album's release. I'm in the no leak club but I said I wouldn't go out of my way to not hear the officially released material. So I'm not sad or angry that I heard the snippet. But.... now I REALLY want to hear the song.

I'm diggin what I've heard already. Like a lot. A lot, a lot.

today i played Sirens and CC back to back in my car.
I can't find the words to tell you how inferior Sirens is to the unfinished poorly recorded demo of CC.
