Absolutely. I can’t believe everyone got out of the way. Incredible miracle.digster wrote:Regardless of whether it was intentional or not, it's a fucking miracle no one was killed, as is being reported. That video is terrifying.
I’m not assuming his innocence. If you recall, my initial rush to judgment was that he was at fault. Now more evidence has come out that has me leaning toward maybe not. We’ll see.Mickey wrote:An astute observer might be forgiven for thinking that assuming he was an innocent man who would have been nearly beaten to death by those protestors is also a case of "rushing to judgment."macphisto wrote:Thank you for not rushing to judgment.Strat wrote:As a Minnesotan and Minneapolis lover .... However, as far as this truck driver is concerned ... at this point they’re not saying it was intentional. There are a shit ton of intersections freeways near this area and if they didn’t get the roads closed properly I would totally understand this happening.
Protestors should be allowed to march wherever the fuck they want.
I’m waiting to get more information on this driver before I become enraged.
Nobody was really hurt and at the time the truck got to the protestors they were mostly already split on both sides of the highway.
Some video caught by my friends in the area is totally frightening though. The aerial video shows that the driver did appear to be trying to slow down and stop as soon as he came upon the crowd
J, those are thoughtful, appropriate words. I’m not trying to pick a fight with you: why do you support Trump? If you’ve elaborated on this in another post, say the word and I’ll search.PHATJ wrote:I’m proud of the thousands of people that have been protesting peacefully today. I’m hopeful that the violence is coming to an end. I support the peaceful protesters, including those breaking curfew in a peaceful way. I’m also thankful for the thousands of people that gathered and gave so much to feed and provide necessities to the people whose neighborhoods have been destroyed. This is the side of Minnesota and humanity I am very proud of, and we should all be glorifying and lifting up the good that comes out in times of great crisis. These are the true leaders and community healers. They come from all backgrounds, colors, and creeds. I’m very hopeful that the Twin Cities will be safe tonight, and in the coming days. I’m hopeful that meaningful change can happen and serious problems can be addressed and corrected. And I sincerely hope we can all recover from all of this.
