I loved The Good Son. I remember seeing it theaters. My friend and I argued about the ending for a long time. It was awesome.

whether or not the ending was really "shocking" or not. All the marketing material advertised a twist ending that was super shocking. My friend didn't think it was surprising at all. He thought it was obvious.

I think the mother choosing the other kids over her own son and letting her son die.

yeah, I wasn't surprised by the cliff scene but I was surprised by the mother's choice; she had to make one, he had killed her daughter, so she did what a lot of us would do -- which was somehow even more shocking; I loved how this movie was essentially about relationships and the choices we make in toxic situations; it's a sophisticated little piece pretending to be a blockbuster

My favorite part of this movie is how whenever Scott Aukerman mentions it on their podcasts he makes sure to say it was Adam Scott's real penis in the film, not a prosthetic micro-penis.
