Sirens still No.1 on the poll?

If it was a poll on RollingStone.com for general audiences and casual fans, Sirens would be No.1 i can bet, but Pearl Jam's die-hard fans voting Sirens as best one in front of all the leaked tracks so far? Strange..

Ditto...i can do without their two and a half minute rockers at this point. Gimme something with a little more atmosphere and depth.

I don't want 2 and half minute rockers. I want a long 4 minute rocker like Do The Evolution or Life Wasted.

Infallible's gonna be a good mid-tempo rocker.

It MIGHT be. I'm worried it's going to be butchered and neutered with effects and synthesizers to be a weird experimental song instead of a heavy mid tempo rocker.

It will be all of those things, I'm sure. I guess my "heavy" doesn't necessarily mean loud and aggressive. I want something with the downer mood of Riot Act, and some groove. Groove will compensate for volume. That's just me.

That's what I thought originally from reading here, but wasn't there someone from Hali too or you went to the Hali show? Maybe I'm just confused.

Well, Newfoundland is an island, and there is some pretty heavy Irish lineage, so I presume it's us you're talking about. No idea about what happened in the news though...

Nope, although a friend from Halifax skipped that show to come to St. John's for the two shows.

I'm hoping infallible is kinda like No Way, cause that's what it reminded me of. On that same note, I was listening to No Way earlier and wondered whether ed could pull of that same measured kinda subtly weird delivery today. I'm thinking no.

Well, I think that depends. The guitarist of my old band is going to think Sirens sucks, guaranteed. He used to be heavily into PJ but hasn't been interested since Yield. But he wants loud guitars from PJ. So it just depends; some big PJ fans love Sirens, some casual fans do as well. But it's not really to do with your level of fandom.

I kind of don't think he has any reason to make anything "weird" today. Which makes me very intrigued about what the apparently "weird" tracks on this album will sound like vocally.

I predict this leaks on page 1182 of this thread.

You like GSMF Coach? Seems to get a lot of flak amongst the newer PJ rockers, but I loved it the moment I hit play on BS. If I had a gripe with it, it's that the detuned live versions don't have the same weight as the studio version. Lowering things a half step really changes the feel of the song to me (although I understand why they do it).
