As Good As It Gets has the same problem. If Jack just told Helen “I have ocd,” no movie.
i haven't seen on the rocks, and it's been a years since i've seen as good as it gets...but they weren't really partners or even that close until the end, no? plus he was the type who would never just volunteer that about himself
They had a lot of awkward flirting throughout the movie, interrupted by repeated moments of misunderstanding based on his OCD. Stupid!
Geezes guys. So are you two the perfect romantic partners than who communicate everything perfectly at all times GEEE IM SORRY YOU CAN'T RELATE TO AMOVIE LIKE THIS THEN

Yeah he was a mentally ill misanthrope. It's true that there wouldn't be a movie if he had been open and honest about it, but it also wouldn't be in character for him to be.
