I think I made a new friend, but she's a lady and her ambition is to be my boss someday, so I'm a little nervous about pushing the friendship without seeming like I am trying to marry her and/or kiss the future boss's ass

when i delivered pizza in college I had a guy come to the story to bitch at me.

the scenario was it was a blizzard and he was about 3 miles from the store. he lived on a winding hilly road that was getting slick as all. I made my way down the hill in my geo metro (key to the story) and couldnt find his house (most of the houses had mailboxes set back and you couldnt see the numbers in the dark).

i went back up the hill and back down to no avail. went back to the store to call them and let them know i couldnt find their house. before i could call they called and i just happened to be the one to pick up.

he immediately launched into a monologue about how stupid we are and why was it taking so long. I explained i went up and down the road twice and couldnt find their house. he let me know they saw me drive by. i asked did you think to flash your porch light to get my attention if you watched me? apparently that wasnt the right thing to say. he very sternly told me that his little kid is starving and what was i going to do. I told him we had shut down delivery because of the roads and he exploded more. told me he would be right up.

i told my manager what was going on and to be prepared. 15 minutes later he shows up in a ford 4x4 and started going on about how he made it up here. i was upfront and said well you have a 4x4. i have a geo metro.

yea well my kid is starving and i had to come up here and get food i was to get delivered. I explained, if your kid is starving and you are depending on me to get you your food that is your first mistake.

my manager sent me to the back of the house

Civil servant. We're not exactly known for our customer service
