Take a look at the site or the baseball tournament thread to see how it works. If there's enough interest for 6+ teams, then we'll work out the details from there!

I'd be interested, but I don't know if I can go into a baseball thread without falling asleep

You're no longer invited, both because of the baseball crack and because I'm concerned that Hasek could win this whole thing for you regardless of which other players you pick.
But seriously, you should do it. I'll try to post a tournament outline tomorrow.

Guys, I think I made a hell of a spreadsheet for this thing. Should allow straight copy pasting of the stats.

I'm looking through to see which players I want and it's... weird. I know there's a lot more to player evaluation than points, but I would be interested in seeing what kind of information they use to determine the dollar values of players.
1992-93
Steve Larmer - 35 goals, 35 assists, +23, 48 PIM, 10th in Selke voting = $6.9 million
Doug Gilmour - 32 goals, 95 assists, +35, 100 PIM, 1st in Selke voting = $6.8 million
I mean... those two players aren't even remotely comparable. Larmer had a solid, productive season. Gilmour was in the conversation for being the best player in the world that year (non-Lemieux category, obviously).
Tim Horton's best season with the Leafs is valued at $4.2 million, which is about the 15th highest total for a defenseman that year, despite the fact that he finished 2nd in Norris voting, his sixth top-4 finish in the last seven years.
Lots of weird stuff.

where are you seeing the dollar values and such? I have no idea what I'm doing

If I remember correctly, a large part of the monetary value each player carries is tied into how in demand they are in the official seasons people pay to be a part of on the site.

Ugh. I feel like if you made a team of all the best Leafs and Habs of all time, the Leafs would be lucky to get a couple players on the team.

So as far as I can tell, right now, we're at:
1. Me - Toronto Maple Leafs
2. Skitch - Detroit Red Wings
3. Lament - Pittsburgh Penguins
4. #BRL - Dallas Stars
5. numbers - Boston Bruins
6. Kaius - St. Louis Blues
7. TBAMTS - Chicago Blackhawks
8. Mecca - Buffalo Sabres
9. southp - Montreal Canadiens
Not bad. I'm sure we can get another 1-2 people involved, and if there's a specific number of people that works best, some people can take on a second team.
I know #BRL mentioned taking a different team, but I think fans of specific teams should get first dibs.

Register at
http://www.whatisports.com. Go to SimMatchup -> NHL. Select Dream Teams and you can create your team from there.
