Hey Pete,
Is Bran talking to everyone from the future throughout the books? And is Bran the Night King in the TV show?

1) He's certainly trying to, at least from the future (his present) to recent past events (earlier in the book, in his lifetime) and current events (talking to Theon in ADWD). Not sure if he's going back and talking to characters as they existed in Robert's Rebellion and periods earlier though. We'll see.
2) No. And the Night King is a dumb character anyway.
Any theory that has Bran as a bad guy, or an unknowing agent of bad guys, is dumb and ugly and shouldn't be given any consideration.

Are there any characters that could still die in the series that would piss you off beyond redemption?

Doesn't he call out to a younger, presumably before-his-own-lifetime Ned from the tree in the Winterfell gods' wood?

He certainly does in the show but I don't remember if anything like that happens in the books.

You might be right. That's why I said not sure. I think though, and certainly hope, that Bran's time manipulation won't go too far back in time. I don't want it to get silly.

Is there a good podcast that talks about the books? I'm looking for deep dive analysis as well as good speculation and realistic theory talk.

I know chud listened to a few. Honestly, I tried, but I felt like the few YouTube channels I follow and the Wiki pages I read gave me the same info.

He does see Ned cleaning Ice and does say something, which causes Ned to turn towards the Weirwood

No. If it ever comes out it will be the 6th book. He's announced it's 7 now. It was 3 originally, then it became 5 at one point and it's been 7 for a while now but I'm sure he'll announce at least an 8th book if he ever finishes Winds of Winter (which SPOILER ALERT!!! .... he won't).

Still no luck. Oh well. I'll just listen on soundcloud or something.

I find the main books to be bloated and a chore for the most part. Sad to say but he’ll never get this done. He should have had a capable editor from the first day and he’d be done now. I do love his offshoot books like green n blacks though

I haven't even tried the spinoff stuff. I adore ASOIAF so fucking much, though. I'm just too angry/disappointed to dive into the supplemental stuff. One day.
