Perfectly illustrates the mindset difference. One side thinks of the other as well meaning but misguided and perhaps stupid. The other has to assume the worst in the people who disagree with them or else they have to admit they have no argument. But because they are mind readers with psychic hate detecting abilities, they don't have to have one. "I'm not right, but you're just a bigot!"

I missed the part where Bammer's buddy was worried about this girl's future bone density and reproductive choices, but he should probably talk to her parents. I'm sure they and her doctor aren't smart enough to understand the future.

there is no amount of tact and sensitivity that would ever be enough, and for some reason it's never the idiots replying that critics of this is stuff are just secret transphobes that never need to exercise any tact or sensitivity. They can just mindlessly blurt out "bigot!" without even the slightest regard for just how callous and tactless that is.

Burt comes to the rescue to attempt to generalize this situation. This is about a made up basketball game. These things are verifiable and we don’t need to know any kids names, just point us to the game.
